Cutest dance ever:
ZOMG! I GRADUATED!!!!
I still can't believe I'm finally a Wilmington University graduate.
I'm so happy!
It was probably the most nerve-wracking day of my life (to date).
First there was the late start today due to not going to sleep until 6:00 AM. Stupid nerves. Anyway, I was scrambling. My family was scrambling. I think they were ready to string me up and gag me at one point. I was freaking because my cap and gown didn't fit me right (Jostens, you are on my radar.
) and because we left an hour later than I wanted to.
Luckily, I got there and was able to exchange gowns and after that everything went off without a hitch...except for the singer they hired to sing the national anthem.
OH. MY. LORD.
This guy kept hitting sour notes (if he hit the note at all) and sounded somewhere between a bad opera singer or one of those "professionally trained" singers who aren't as good as they think they are. I was in the second row ducking down (we had to stand until the end) so the people on stage couldn't see me trying (poorly, admittedly) to maintain my evaporating composure. The sound of desperately muffled snickers on either side of me told me that I was not the only one. I can only imagine the restraint it took for the people sitting in the front row.
Anyway, it was a great ceremony, and everyone was moved...until the singer got up to close things with "God Bless The USA", and then all bets were off.
Anyway, I'm in a state of euphoria and my family is really happy. My mom keeps telling everyone, acquaintances and strangers alike, that "my baby is a college graduate!!!"
It probably won't sink in until tomorrow. ![]()

I feel like a hero and you are my heroine. I won't try to philosophize,
I'll just take a deep breath and I'll look in your eyes. This is how I feel.
